Well, we're coming up on the Arab spring, and you are probably
wondering how come the Middle East goes out of control twice a year. The
reason is that during the time periods between winter and summer, the
weather is quite decent, and people come out of their habitats and roam
the streets. With not a lot to do, high unemployment, and tons of people
in their early 20s, there's a lot of piss and vinegar, testosterone,
and all that is available to angry youth. It's a recipe for disaster,
and one can only wonder what will happen in the Arab Spring of 2013.

Traditional Italian Recipes
Most traditional Italian recipes will differ from one region or
part of Italy to the next. There are twenty (20) separate regions in all
and there are provinces within each region which means many different
styles and flavors of cooking. This regional variation is what Italy is
known for; it is the local ingredients which give each unique flavor -
the spice of life.
Hari Raya - A Time to Honor God and Celebrate
Hari Raya Haji is a national holiday in Malaysia. This holiday is
also known as Aidil Adha and is celebrated in October. It is
celebration for Muslims around the world. The celebration lasts 4 days
and is held to honor the fact that Abraham offered his son Ishmael up to
the Lord as instructed. Of course, this was a test of obedience to
God's word and when the Lord saw that Abraham was so willing, he did not
make Abraham sacrifice his son. This day also marks the end of the
fasting month, where the people abstain from alcohol, smoking and sexual
relations.
Classic Spanish Recipes: Valencian Paella

British Recipes and Cuisine
Sometimes under-appreciated, traditional British cuisine offers
many wonderful dishes and great variety from the different corners of
the United Kingdom. British culture (and cooking!) have been greatly
enriched by immigration and overseas influences.
Rustic Chestnut Rolls With Walnuts
I love the nutty, sweet flavor of chestnut flour and have been adding it into some of my breads and baked goods the past few years. In this recipe for crusty bread rolls, I added just a little chestnut flour (a little goes a long way) to some white wheat flour to replace some of the bread flour I normally use, then added some toasted walnuts for added flavor and texture. These rolls are great used for sandwiches, and they work well stuffed with just about any cured meat and cheese combination. Although I used my dough to create rolls, you could also use the dough for loaves of bread, or create half as rolls and one small loaf of bread instead.
Arabic Sayyadeyeh - Quick and Easy Fish Recipe Made From Scratch
I grew up as a Christian Palestinian-Briton in the Lebanon, an
Arab country. Fridays were days that we did not eat meat. Sometimes,
lentils were served (not like any lentils most Westerners would
recognize, I hasten to add), and sometimes fish. It always struck me as
odd, this fish thing, as strictly speaking it is meat, but I digress. My
grandmother used to stand in the kitchen carefully feeling the fish
between her thumb and forefinger, feeling for bones.
Spanish Recipes
Spain is home to a diverse cuisine. This reflects the country's
heritage and history, its maritime links to the new world, and the
different climates that are found in the various regions of Spain.
A key ingredient in many Spanish foods is olive oil. This is perhaps rather unsurprising when you consider the fact that Spain produces almost half of the world's supply of olives. Other typically Spanish ingredients include beans, tomatoes, peppers and potatoes (thanks to Spain's historic links to the New World), as well as garlic and onions. Additionally, pork is an ingredient in many Spanish recipes, and since pork is not eaten by Muslims or Jews, was once a statement of Christian identity (the Iberian peninsula having been ruled by Muslims for 700 years prior to the Reconquista).
Some popular Spanish recipes include:
* Calamares - Fried squid.
* Chorizo - A spicy pork sausage. There are many different types of chorizo, some of which can be eaten cold, although there are some varieties which need further cooking. Chorizo is often used as an ingredient in other dishes.
* Fabada Asturiana - A bean stew containing chorizo, pork and black blood sausage ("morcilla").
* Gazpacho - A cold vegetable soup.
* Gazpacho Manchego - A version of gazpacho which contains meat (usually rabbit) and mushrooms, but is served warm.
* Paella - Originally from Valencia, paella is rice cooked with saffron and olive oil, and usually containing seafood or meat, and vegetables.
* Jamo serrano - Dry-cured ham.
* Marmitako - A fish stew containing potatoes and tomatoes.
* Pescaíto Frito - Fish in batter, deep-fried.
* Tortilla de patatas - Onion and potato omelette.

Three Traditional English Recipes
he cuisine of England has had a large
influence on food all over the world. Many versions of traditional
English dishes can be found in other cultures, perhaps with slight
differences. English food itself, however, has adapted to tastes from
all over the world! Indian curries and Asian sauces have become very
popular in England, as have spicy Mexican dishes. This article features
three of my favorite traditional English recipes that are still very
common in England today. I hope you enjoy them!
Italian Recipes
Italian food is one of the most popular food in the world. One
can always find an Italian eatery or restaurant in almost every
continent. Italian recipes are considered to be extremely flavorful
along with a wonderful aroma that enhances the flavor of the food. Usage
of flavorful and rich ingredients such as cheese, tomatoes and olive
oil is common in most Italian recipes. Staples include wheat and
semolina flour in the form of various types of pastas and breads. The
most famous of all Italian foods are the pizza and pasta recipes, that
have secured a high place in the global cuisine as well. The high
popularity of such dishes has also influenced neighboring cuisines such
as the American and European cuisine as well.
French Food - Rural Food Made Popular By Celebrity Chefs
I absolutely love food. I love to cook and I love to eat! French
food holds a very special place in my heart, and particularly the food
of Northern France. As well as writing my articles, I also have a blog
on the site blogger.com, where I translate a recipe (usually French) in
each post I write. When I lived over in France, I was exposed to the
wonderful world of boulangeries on every street corner, and got to
sample some of the weird and wonderful regional delicacies. It now seems
to me that regional and particularly rural recipes are becoming more
and more popular in British homes. This undoubtedly stems from our love
of celebrity chefs; Raymond Blanc and Michel Roux Jr have both given us
insights into the food they grew up on; it is inexpensive and simple,
and not at all what we would expect Michelin star chefs to cook.
However, there is something endearing about watching these men who are
so famous and so acclaimed for their cooking go back to their roots and
cook simple French dishes that they ate when they were growing up, and
that inspired them to become world-class chefs in the first place.

Pasta, Past and Present
There are many myths about the origin of pasta.
Eating English Food
Enjoying traditional English food is very easy to do. While some
people assume that UK food is bland, they could not be further from the
truth, so many of the wonderful foods from the United Kingdom are
stuffed with flavor and taste that can get anyone hooked on them.
All About Tapas Small Plates
Endulge me for a moment. There's a lot of quirky history about
the origin how tapas small plates came into being. Let me regale you

Italian Restaurants - How American Versions Differ From Their Roman Counterparts
When most people decide to dine out at Italian restaurants, they
want a decent serving of pizza or pasta, a good helping of bread, and
maybe some wine to wash it down. They aren't particularly interested in
how closely the food matches what they're eating in Rome and they
certainly aren't interested in picking up any culture along with their
meal. If you ever wondered, though, how visiting a real Roman eatery
would differ from the places you're used to in America, here are some of
the most stark differences. The information may come in handy if you
find yourself in the old country some day.

Moroccan Food is Some of the Best You'll Ever Have
Moroccan Cuisine is something everyone should experience and
savor. Moroccans certainly know how to eat, they have large portions of
extremely healthy foods. Boy, I love Moroccans, they are a people after
my heart. They believe in abundance and they never cut a meal short.
You'll find Moroccan foods wonderful and the number of variations truly
astounding. The spices, flavor and company is so very excellent indeed.
The History of French Cuisine
Just like the French fashion dress is known as haute couture,
French cuisine is termed as haute cuisine. The history of French cuisine
has evolved through several centuries of political and social changes,
the Middle Ages were famous for cuisine of Taillevent, a famous chef in
those times. Still, many French citizens remained poor farmers until the
storming of the Bastille in 1789 and the birth of a new-look France
after the revolution. This political change led to the emergence of an
upper class that started considering gourmet food as a status symbol.
The French cuisine contents underwent a change. The use of spices became
reduced, while usage of herbs increased. Cooking techniques were
refined. This change in French cuisine started with La Varenne and was
continued by other dignitaries such Marie-Antoine Careme and the chef of
Napoleon. However, more than 70% of French farmers continued to
languish in malnutrition and poverty.
Spanish food history
Spain continues to lead the list of popular destinations owing to
its splendid weather, fascinating culture and mouthwatering food. Some
delicacies are still prepared in a conventional way. Spanish food is
popular due to the unusual combination of ingredients and the aroma. The
emphasis is always more on the taste and the flavor than the garnishing
and presentation of the food. Like any other cuisine, t Spanish cuisine
is also subjected to experimentation, and the resulting combination is a
blend of traditional dishes and contemporary styles. Some of the
ingredients used by others such as Roman, Moorish, and Greek, are now
included in Spanish cooking. Typically, Spanish food is spicy and richly
flavored, and a lot of dishes are prepared using tomatoes, potatoes,
chilli, citrus fruit and beans.
English Food Recipes
Everyone knows that the economy is tough if you are looking to
stretch your paycheck dollars you should consider English food recipes.
Some of the recipes that come out of England are not only cheap to make,
they are also very healthy and filling. Big hearty hot meals for the
cooler months are always a big hit and the best aspect about them is
they do not need to cost you an arm and leg to make. The same can be
said for the warmer months, where you may not want to eat too many big
heavy hot meals.
